A traveler, passionate about languages and about learning methods that are simple, logical and accessible to everyone.
My name is Laurence Gabrielle Chassagnol. I am French, with a quarter of Spanish origin, and languages, travel and teaching have always held an essential place in my life.
Since childhood, I moved a great deal with my parents. Without realizing it, that life of change likely prepared me to love meeting people, discovering new places and traveling.
Around the age of twenty, one question often returned to my mind:
"What kind of life do I want to live?"
Time passes quickly. I dreamed of a life rich in discoveries, encounters and experiences, and I decided to go out and meet the world.
I left to join friends in Greece.
Soon after, I flew to Mexico, where I learned to make handmade jewelry. That craft helped me fund a nearly four-year journey across Latin America. I lived in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. There I learned Spanish and Portuguese, and discovered other cultures and ways of thinking.
Back in France, I spent three years learning to read and write Arabic, and to speak a few phrases.
I left again for Bolivia, where I lived for twelve years.
I then spent two years in London, before moving to China in October 2008. I stayed there for fourteen years, plus six months in Thailand and six months in Malaysia.
I speak fluent French, English, Spanish and Chinese.
I never traveled only to see new landscapes.
I traveled to meet others, understand their cultures, discover their habits, their ways of thinking and their view of life.
Every country taught me something.
For me, travel has always been a wonderful school of life.
It was in China that I discovered a true passion: teaching French.
Very quickly, I wanted to pass on the language in the most simple, logical, progressive and enjoyable way possible.
But I could not find a textbook that truly matched the way I taught. So I decided to create my own.
For nearly six years, I worked on designing my first educational books.
A book designed to understand the basics of reading and pronouncing French.
A progressive method with reading, pronunciation, spelling and grammar exercises.
These two books were self-published on Amazon in 2023 and 2024.
While learning several languages throughout my life, I noticed something very simple: my brain constantly needed to simplify, sort and organize information.
So I applied that same logic to my learning methods.
During my teaching years in China, I also tested these methods with many beginner students. Thanks to them, I identified the difficulties that come up most often: reading, pronunciation, spelling and grammar.
Every page of my books is designed to remove as many obstacles as possible and make learning more intuitive and natural.
Today, my books are available in French, English and Spanish, to support learners around the world.

I especially enjoy teaching Chinese.
I find it a fascinating, logical, fun and incredibly stimulating language. I am convinced it will play an increasingly important role in the world of tomorrow.
Since 2026, I have also been publishing short educational videos on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.
The idea is simple: go straight to the point. Most of my videos last less than a minute and a half, to share a concept, a tip or a word clearly and memorably.
Each week, rediscover a rare or lesser-used French word. Affable, laconic, redundant… The goal: enrich our vocabulary and rediscover the joy of expressing ourselves well.
A series mainly focused on French spelling: simple, logical and visual tips. Videos on grammar will gradually complete the series.
Supports my French books for foreign learners: alphabet, pronunciation, reading and core lessons. Always the same goal: simplify without making it shallow.
I am convinced that everyone can learn a language.
You do not need a special gift. With a simple, logical and progressive method, regularity and a little curiosity, learning can become much more natural and enjoyable.
All my experiences of travel, learning and teaching have led me to the same idea:
Understanding makes things simpler, and what becomes simple becomes much easier to learn.
